Following the break of the UK from the European Union and the consequences associated with it, it makes it harder for Austrian students to join UCL and experience life at this prestigious university. I believe it is crucial that the voices of Austrian students at UCL and students interested in Austria are still being heard for years to come.
I am running for president to proudly hold up the Austrian flag for the next academic year, planning entertaining, interesting, and exciting events for everyone following or interested in the society. Keeping up the Austrian traditions through biweekly “Stammtische”, monthly discussion with Austrian personalities as well as expanding on the interests of the members and connecting to other UCL societies. I hope to focus on developing relationships with other Austrian societies from Universities in the UK. If I will be voted president, I am eager to show the beauty Austria has to offer and remind ourselves, that Austrian’s voice is still presented here at UCL.
Servus, Griaß di and Hello!??
When I first joined the Stammtisch of the Austrian Society, I immediately felt at home, even tho I’d never met those people before. I had such a great time and it felt like I was in Austria, drinking beer with my mates and talking about everything and anything. That's why I nominate myself to be the President of the Austrian Society because I want to carry on the feeling of home and community within the society. I believe this is incredibly important, especially if you live abroad, to connect with your nationality. My management and communication skills come in handy and would help me guide the Austrian society, plan events and build a community.
I hope I convinced you to give me your vote and I look forward to having a great time together.
