Min Jing Cheng

As President this year, I launched weekly Discussion Groups to spark dialogue on current affairs and organised multiple social and speaker events. Together, we have covered topics ranging from Asian representation (our first speaker event of the year!) to the unrest in Kazakhstan in January. I have really enjoyed building a community here through our serious discussions and cosy chats at every post-event dinner/pub visit!

If I am elected, you can look forward to:

  • An Annual Conference at the launch of each Journal to explore the issues our members are passionate about.
  • Embassy visits and opportunities to network with experts and professionals.
  • Speaker events on a range of academic and cultural interests.
  • Museum tours and visits to the coolest exhibitions in town.
  • Volunteering opportunities – with my experience in volunteering, fundraising, and building partnerships, I am confident in bringing these opportunities to you for us to uplift communities together.
  • Regular socials – our movie night was of my favourite events!

Thank you for reading! I hope to serve as your Events Officer next year to continue building a community in a society I love!
