Joyce Lee

Hello everyone, my name is Joyce Lee and I'm currently a first year politics and international relations student. I am running for president of ACS because I believe I am a good fit for this position. As a current first year executive for the consulting division, I have gained insight into the operations of ACS, allowing me to better understand the vision behind the society. This upcoming year I will organise different career-oriented events to cater to the needs of different students. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] for any questions! Thank you for reading my manifesto and please vote for me :)

Helena Wu

I have been a member of the Asian Career Society(ASC) for a whole year. I was extremely attracted by the idea of providing students with a deeper insight into different career paths especially, having the opportunity to interact with representatives from a specific field. However, in the past two terms, I heard nothing from the ASC nor can get on to the website. Thus, as a person who is eager to help, having decent leadership skills as well career market-related work experience, I hope I could bring some change and provide actual help to students who are interested in careers in the Asian market. I believe that the president is expected to be the main connection between the Union and the members of the society, providing guidance for team members. My experience of being the president of my high school’s Student Council trained my leadership and team-working skill, where I chaired weekly meetings, gave presentations, organized school events and spoke up for students in need. I also worked as a part-time A level Biology tutor and my experience of being a hippotherapy volunteer for disabled children gave me great ability of empathy, quickly figuring out their needs and communicating efficiently. Lastly, I am also the Campus Ambassador for a premier full-service career consulting company called WallStreetTequila, by which I connect students in need with professional mentors in the matching industry. It can help bring extra useful resources to our ACS.
