Arab and North African Society: Welfare Officer

I’m interested in becoming ArabNASoc's next welfare officer as I want to contribute to helping our members be aware of the mental health support available at UCL. Being a support system for other people can make a huge difference which is something I truly came to understand during my first year. I have personally benefited from the support of other people in the society, and I would like to be the person our members feel comfortable approaching when times get hard. I would also like to connect other first years with older students to provide support and mentoring through the start of their university experience. This role is important to me as it allows me to give back to the society, as well as provide me with valuable experience as I think about my own career journey in the mental health field.
