Arab and North African Society: Events Officer

I'm running for the role of events officer for the Arab and North African society. I was a freshers rep for the society and worked on the events team, giving me experience in putting on fun and enjoyable events for the society members. During my time as a freshers rep I got to know all sorts of people, and understand the process behind the production of all the amazing events. I also experienced going to these events as a society member and had an amazing time and would therefore love to be given the opportunity to produce these events for all members. 

I would like to run for the events officer as I have been attending a variety of Arab and North African society events and have been fascinated with the way all the events have been thoroughly planned and organised, which made me intrigued to apply for this position. I am passionate about this role as it involves bringing in many different people from a variety of backgrounds to come together. Connecting Arabs and North Africans from different backgrounds are highly important to me as it enables us to learn and assimilate to our cultural roots despite living in a western country. I will also help to organise events, come up with new event ideas, ensuring everything in the events run smoothly. These are all things that I take pride in seeing as I’m Arab and event planning is something we really take to heart *cough cough* weddings *cough cough* family gatherings.
