Safiyah Moloobhoy

I believe that mental health and well-being of students in a community is an important concern that requires a responsible and empathetic individual to help manage and improve. Due to my previous experience as a Prefect, focused on student wellbeing, I have learnt strategies of communication to monitor welfare or concern of others, such as online feedback surveys or suggestion/ complaint submission platforms in order to identify and target issues others may be struggling with by listening to their issues and offering the support I can. I believe that ABSoc is an important society, helping students maintain their faith even while away from home, by forming a strongly knit community. I have participated in many of the ABsoc activities that give back to others such as the food bank and the homeless drive. Therefore, I believe that my familiarity with ABSoc, my empathetic characteristics and previous experience make me an ideal candidate for welfare officer and I hope that you will vote for me.
