Hello everyone! To introduce myself, I’m Ananya and am currently in my penultimate year of the BSc Management Science course. I am running for the Treasurer of UCL 180 Degrees Consulting! The role is a perfect integration of my interest in treasury, social impact, and consulting.
Working with 180DC over the past year as the Marketing Director and a student consultant gave me insight into the social value that is being created through the term-time projects and confirmed my passion for the society! Furthermore, having been the treasurer for UCL YMC, I am well-equipped with allocating budgets in a way that creates maximum value for society members, organising detailed budgetary checks, trying to foresee and mitigate risks, reviewing invoices, and working closely with the Students Union to ensure timely payments.
For these reasons, I believe that I’d make a good candidate for the Treasurer role and if you think so too, do vote for me! I wish all candidates the best of luck :)
180DC has made an impact on me by recognising the help that many NGOs and Charities require in their mission to aid the less fortunate. Committed to this cause, I have volunteered in both term 1 & 2 as a student consultant to help these organisations overcome their challenges and improve their businesses.
I believe that 180DC stands out from the other societies as it tackles consultancy and social work simultaneously. This empowers students to not only learn from Consulting Mentors from Clarasys but also gain valuable experience with working through client's final deliverables. My time in 180DC have prepared me with the analytical and strategic thinking that is well desired in any industry. I wish the same for my fellow passionate UCL students.
As the treasury of the committee, I will calculate and budget our finances to bring in more affordable events. Be it panel speakers or case competitions, for student consultants to continuously improve and hone their abilities to impact the world even after they leave UCL. Additionally, I would organise more social events where members would intermingle across project teams, to improve the cohesiveness and dynamic of 180DC as a society.
