Italian Society: Head of Events

Ciao a tutti! I am Sebastiano Longo, first year Mathematics with Economics student. I am from Milan, and I just moved to London as many of us, and at the beginning (and I hope I wasn’t the only one) I felt a bit out of place, surrounded by people I had never seen before that came from all around the world. Usually I don’t have many problems when meeting new people, but in this case, also because of the cultural difference things were harder.

The reason why I am standing for this position is that what helped me the most, at the beginning, was to meet other people similar to me, from Italy, from Milan even better. And I want to continue meeting new people from my homeland, who share the same traditions and language: I wish to plan and organize many more events for the UCL Italian Society with the aim of enlarging our community and helping every Italian at UCL to meet new friends and people to spend time with. I wish to organize events within and out of UCL, meeting our fellow Italians that study at Kings, LSE, Imperial and any other university in London to make our community always larger and stronger.
