What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

Hello everyone! As your hall rep, my number one priority would be to create and maintain living conditions that promote your well-being. I think the best way to accomplish this is to set up and online form where you can submit your complaints or suggestions for our accommodation at any time. With this system you can submit request whenever it is convenient for you and won’t have to worry about finding the time to meet with your representative. I will take every complaint/suggestion seriously and advocate on your behalf to our administration.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I’m studying for my masters in global health and development, so I have an academic understanding on how your living conditions impact your health and happiness. Because of this, I have the tools necessary to understand our accommodation issues and create an argument backed by research to get them fixed by our administration. I also have experience working in student government and serving as a club president during my undergraduate degree, so I am confident in my abilities to work with students and faculty.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Overall, I would really love to serve as your hall representative. I believe we can collaborate to create an environment we enjoy living in. I will take this role seriously and always do my best to improve our accommodation. I enjoy speaking with my neighbors, so I’ll always be open to hearing your suggestions, and advocating for our needs will be a great way for me to apply my global health skills outside of the classroom. Thank you for your consideration!

We have had a difficult couple of months - it has been incredibly lonely, and the whole situation is just not ideal.

I am a londoner myself so I can act as a tour guide and provide some tricks and tips - how to stay safe, where to eat/shop, best attractions etc.

If there is a problem that needs to be addressed, I will be determined to speak with the relevant people to solve the issue as soon as possible.

I can be a shoulder to cry on and help to deal with homesickness, stress, and heartbreak.

We need to fix the last couple of months and have the uni experience!

Lingxi Chen
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I will observe the advantages and inconveniences of the facilities in the building, communicate with other students, absorb their views, and give feedback to the Accommodation department in a timely manner.

I will offer my help to students when they are in trouble and help with transport routes, restaurants, entertainment, and so on in the neighborhood.

I will keep students up to date with events and activities and the surrounding community and introduce them.

I will help students to solve communication problems.

I will make an example in front of the students in my life and study.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I had experience working in the Life Department of the Student Union during my undergraduate years.

I visited all the dormitories on the floor to collect the problems that students were encountering in their daily lives and give feedback to the house manager. When they encountered common problems such as losing their keys, I can help.

I obtained a skill after working as an intern in the Government Department, which is the way to communicate with others efficiently and effectively. In my opinion, as a Hall Rep, it is necessary and significant to answer questions and communicate with them.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I know the area around One Pool Street very well, so I can also help students with transport routes, shopping for household goods, activities, restaurants, entertainment, and so on in the neighborhood.

I have the experience for three years of being in a position that is similar to the Hall Rep during my undergraduate years. No matter what kind of problems you have, I will always be there and be willing and able to help you with your problem.

I am an outgoing and easygoing person.

If you have some suggestions about One Pool Street, I'd like to represent all of you to fight for our rights.
