What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

As a resident at Goldsmid, all of us understand the shortcomings that prevent us from utilising the opportunity to live in this culturally, academically, and socially diverse atmosphere. If elected to be hall representative, I would implement the following:

  • Use the open space to host outdoor events when the weather permits
  • Conducting short trips in Victoria for people to get to know each, discover more about the neighbourhood, and get a chance to just relax
  • Conduct a quick workshop for anyone who moves in after term starts to help with adjustment
  • Host talent nights for hall residents
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I have had experience in managing events, leading groups, and working in teams through different avenues. I believe I have the skills necessary to be a good hall representative and ensure that we can make the very best of Goldsmid. I am a multitasker and I know how to prioritize tasks to fulfil them seamlessly. I am confident and can communicate well at both, an individual and a team level. This is imperative to make our voice heard at meetings, to establish a well connected environment in the hall, and to make sure everyone can come up and talk to me about their worries easily.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I think I am well suited to this role and willing to work with everyone. I am very friendly and believe in the sense of a community. Above all, I am approachable and open to feedback. This will ensure that we make most of our resources and maximise our academic and social development. I have lots of new ideas and I can use the resources already provided to us. I am confident and will voice concerns, appreciate achievements, and push for progress. With the ideas I have mentioned above and the energy I bring to the role, I believe I can truly deliver this duty.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope that I can represent other student residents in my hall to advocate for good standards of living and affordability in the hall. In addition, I hope that the voices of student residents can be heard and the concerns raised will be solved effectively to ensure an outstanding living experience in the hall. Finally, I hope that I can help to build a community and sense of belongings within the hall by running community building activities.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
  • strong sense of responsibility: fulfilled the duty of subject representative in my high school; collected all assignments from classmates on time and dutifully chased those who failed to hand in; always the first one to collect class materials and textbooks for my class in the teachers's office
  • skilled in event organization:scripted, filmed, and edited a music video for my high school choir online concert and received the highest amount of views in the series;
  • people-oriented:invited group members to share opinions in my high school research project and helped them with presentation.
Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Even though I am NOT Chris Martin and I cannot guarantee that you will meet friends who can establish rock bands like Coldplay together in the UCL accommodation, we can strive to build a friendly community in which every resident feels sense of belonging.No matter what problems you have encountered or what improvement you feel that can be made to improve your accommodation experience here, I will faithfully represent your voice and make it heard.
