The Events manager has an important and fun role. They are responsible for organising, hosting and overseeing the events we host throughout the year. They would usually take the lead on a few events; for the others, they would support another member of the committee organising the event.
It is a great opportunity to network and develop leadership and organisation skills.

Harry Wallwork

Hello fellow environmentalists,

My name is Harry, and I am a 2nd-year Physical Geography Student, thrilled to express my interest in becoming your next Event Manager for the ELLS.

Through studying the intricacies of climate change policies, the pillars of environmental justice, and biodiversity conservation, I have explored the powerful yet nuanced character of climate legislation.
I find great satisfaction in bringing about social, productive platforms for collective discussion on environmental affairs. This would include, and not be limited to sustainability workshops, fundraisers, discussion forums, debate competitions, volunteer projects, and film screenings. Ultimately, this diverse range of events will aim to expand opportunities for education, engagement, and action. I am resourceful and resilient, balancing both creativity and purpose to produce events in pursuit of environmental equity.

I am excited about the prospect of bringing my personal motivations, organisational skills, adaptability, and positive mindset to the ELLS. Together, we can not only provide an outlet for information but also one for empowerment and inspiration.

Thank you so much for your consideration :)

Ioulitta Karvounis

Hello!

My name is Ioulitta Karvounis, a 3rd year Biological Sciences student on the Zoology route, and I would be honoured to fulfil the role of the events manager in ELLS.

I have a very clear vision for the events this year and would love to develop them to be the best they can be. Some of these include speakers coming in to share insights on their careers, environmental discussion panels, current affairs seminars, organising trips to attend external environmental events/lectures in London as well as of course CV-writing sessions. I would also focus on developing the more social events in ELLS, with the aim of fostering an inclusive atmosphere and encouraging mixing between different years and courses not only to help everyone make new friends but also to expand the mindsets of our members!

Overall, I would absolutely love to be the events manager for ELLS and hope you will consider me :)
