Egpytian Society: Social Secretary

My name is Merna, and I’m running to be the next Social Secretary! As an Egyptian student, this society feels like a home away from home and a place where we can celebrate our culture, connect with one another, and share the warmth and energy that defines Egypt. I want to help strengthen that sense of belonging and make our events even more enjoyable and inclusive.



If elected, I’ll focus on creating a balance between lively, large-scale socials and smaller, relaxed gatherings that make it easy for everyone to bond. From themed parties and cultural dinners to movie nights, game evenings, and collaborations with other societies, I want to make sure there’s something for everyone. My aim is to make every event not just fun, but meaningful and a space where new friendships are formed and our shared pride in our culture shines through.



I’m especially passionate about advertising and design, and I’d use that to make every event stand out — through creative visuals, clear promotion, and consistent engagement across all platforms. My goal is to ensure our socials are well-organised, exciting, and reach as many members as possible.
