Volleyball Club: Vice President

Hi everyone! I’m Leo, a soon to be 3rd year who’s also the outside hitter for the Men’s Volleyball Team. Over the last two years, I’ve competed for the Men’s team, participated in social sessions, and even served on the committee as Marketing Director — curating content for the Beginning of Year marketing campaign. I believe the UCL Volleyball Club is a unique environment where, in addition to honing our volleyball skills, we can build lasting friendships and bonds that extend beyond the sport. It is also for this reason that I feel disappointed that, as one of the largest sports societies at UCL, we are lacking tremendously in the merchandise and goods available to our members. As Vice President of the club, I hope to design reasonably-priced merchandise that reflects our club's lively, social identity. As of this manifesto, I’ve reached out to companies including Lucozade, Reebok, and Redbull to negotiate sponsorships that will heighten the presence of our events while hopefully lowering costs. As a returning third year, I’m committed to making the club the best it can be for the third year in a row. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions! Hey guys I’m Masaya, 3rd Year Zoology student, running for Vice-President! 

I had so many experiences in this society, and saw it from different perspective every year; going through as a social member, then as a team player, and this year as committee (marketing director). After 3 years being in the society, with all the good time I had here, I would like to contribute to the further development and growth of the society, and thank them for the best society experience I had at UCL. 

Ok done for the formal part, let’s bring the fun part: I love this society, and I want more people to love it too!

One of the first things I will project for next year’s club activity is more opportunities for members to feel included in the society. Themed-sessions, events on each occasion, and more sports night on Wednesday! (our big society needs to flood scala for example)

Next, I would like to answer to what most of us felt this year: social sessions on double court! We all felt how squeezed up we were so let's change that shall we. Two session per week, beginner sessions, all we need for everybody to be satisfied!

Aaand something I really want to organize with all of us: a society tournament! Have a day just playing volleyball with everybody till dead.
