Hi! I'm Michelle (pink+black hair, taped knees, dead ankle). You may have seen me around in the Thursday social sessions or playing volleyball outside of UCL. I play outside/opposite, and previously captained my school team.
With several years of volleyball experience, I have in-depth knowledge of the game, both playing the game itself and teaching new players. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, as your elected marketing officer, I hope to promote the club as a space for everyone, with a variety of activities that suit your level of play. I aim to continue glow-in-the-dark dodgeball, revamp social sessions to suit different levels, and bring back the beach volleyball trip to Portugal!
I have several years of experience in marketing and social media, including a content creation internship at international gaming org Invictus Gaming, creating promotional material for a cafe, and advertising services for an international tutoring organisation. As an IB art student, I have extensive knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator, Lightroom and Canva. I am also an experienced photographer.
I also understand that many may have queries regarding UCL volleyball, and will be responsive with IG DMs on the UCL volleyball page.
TLDR; I hope to increase clarity, transparency and accessibility for all members, making UCL volleyball a fun place for players of all levels.
DM me if you have questions! @michelletehhh on IG
Vote Michelle! Thankyou :)
Hey guys I’m Masaya and I’m running for marketing director!
Allow me to explain why very simply: I love this society, and I want more people to love it too.
I discovered volleyball in 12th grade in P.E. for only a short period (never touched a volleyball until then), but it was enough for me to get addicted. It started small, saying “hm I like it, I wanna play more” to “damn I need to play more!” (Yes, I also watched Haikyuu. Yes, it did help the addiction). It’s been 2 short years since then, but my eagerness and motivation was reflected when I joined the mix team. However, I must admit my love for volleyball wasn’t fully achievable if the society was not as loveable as the sport.
Having participated in most activities I can guaranty it's a fun time. If you want to know how involved I am just ask my flat mates, they would be happy to testify how many times I said, “nah sorry can’t go out tonight, got volleyball”.
As such, I would like to take over this position to make others become as obsessed and keep spreading the fun.
I will help the society grow with my passion and a pinch of marketing skills (hopefully). I will ensure this society absorbs and releases the volleyball love through social medias. And more importantly, I hope I will have the opportunity to talk to you all and exchange the fun during sessions!
I hope I have expressed enough of my love for this society and you guys felt how ready I am to commit to this job.
Thanks for taking your time to read!
During this past year being part of UCL Volleyball I have come to understand the crucial role of a strong social media platform in large societies like this. Having a place where we can find all session schedules, fixtures and socials contributes immensely to creating a club where members know and support each other. Being a very organized person, I will be able to work with the rest of the committee team in deciding the best ways to convey new information about future events to the club members, making sure that all teams are equally kept up to speed. As a marketing director, it is also my role to ensure that the society's values are represented on our platforms and that those are not lost as we reach more people. Sports societies go beyond the sport itself and also rely on the companionship and team spirit that is formed. That is why I hope to use social media as a vehicle to get the different teams to support each other as much as possible, representing what TeamUCL is all about. My main goal in this position is to reach as many people interested in volleyball as possible, making sure that everyone feels included and part of something bigger.
