I am standing because I am passionate about surgery. I would love to contribute to the society and use this role as a mode to share my passion and showcase my enthusiasm.
I have particularly enjoyed shadowing surgeons and understanding the range of procedures which encompass oral and maxofacial surgery. I have particularly enjoyed learning about micro-vascular techniques used to transfer free flaps and would love to organise workshops for other students to learn these technqiues and inspire them to pursue a career in oral and maxofacial surgery.
Furthermore, I aspire to pursue a surgery career therefore I would love to network with likeminded individuals and get exposure in the field. I would like to also contact world leading experts in surgery and organise talks so students like myself can learn about the future direction of the feild.
I would also like to gain more experience in organising conferences and improve my communication skills. This role provides a perfect opportunity for me to develop my personal skills while helping other students learn more about surgery.
