Louis M Hayes

Evening, clubmen.

Just wanted to put myself forward to take on the captaincy for the looming season. I have coached and played at a high level from a young age and feel like that experience would be valuable in continuing the process - that Harrison has kickstarted so well - of leading the club back to the style and standard it deserves to be playing and training at. The culture and attitude within the club remains paramount and I believe buying into these elements that our seniors have laid down is what will get our klub to where it needs to be - I hope my rapport amongst you boys would help facilitate that. If I’m not to be voted in, I will buy in and back fully whoever this great honour falls to.

Love to the boys and the club.

Emil M Ali

Greetings wetmen! Again, my thanks goes to the Italian Stallion, Max Proietti, for pulling out of the competition and allowing us others to lay claim to captaincy. Most of you would have heard my speech during the AGM where I pleaded my case for the 1stVX Kaptain, but here I shall just summarise the key points that I made:

1. During the 2020+1/22 season, I have been proudly representing and helping lead the 1st XV as Vice-Kaptain under Harrison, which has helped me gain experience leading the team. As a man of ambition, I do not want to stop there and believe that I would excel as skipper if chosen by you all.

2. My commitment to UCL rugby and the boys is clear. I always turn up to training and make sure the intensity is there, I've helped make up the numbers if any team is short on players, and I strive to form strong relationships with lads from all year groups, on and off the pitch. I want to instil this attitude across the klub as a whole.

3. My experience as Vice-President last year means that I am well-suited for handling the  vast administrative duties which must be undertaken as Kaptain, whether its with BUCS Play, or ensuring clear comms with the Union.

4. I will be honest and fair concerning team selections. This upcoming year, we look forward to welcoming a new host of freshers, meaning our klub will grow in size significantly and competition for places will increase. This can only be a good thing, and I will help encourage this.
