My name is Alexia Mihaila, I am a fourth-year Arts & Sciences student and I’m running for the Treasurer position.
Having been involved with Rare for over two years now as Head of Music and running my radio show I’ve learnt how the club runs and therefore I can provide a lot of knowledge on how to manage our finances and get us more gig passes, gear, and physical copies of music.
My plan for next year is to:
* Offer more gig press opportunities
* Expanding the Rare FM physical music catalog
* Bolstering a professional look on our social media with the help of the Marketing Officer
* Ensuring demands and expectations in the studio are met
My past experience in the club will help me be a good treasurer and, since I love representing Rare FM, I’d like to work again in the committee and keep the ball rolling!
Rare FM has easily been my favourite society so far at UCL. From learning to mix in the studio and hosting a regular show to meeting new people at events.
Ultimately, I want to keep $$ flowing so we can have a studio with the best equipment and best atmosphere and host events at the best venues. Maybe even get some merch going?
I guess I should also mention that I am an Econ student which makes a big fan of spreadsheets and familiar with financial information. Pricing tickets, budgeting, processing orders, I am more than happy to do it all. I have experience on the logistics side of events which I can carry through to Rare, for example, coordinating tours during Mayfair art weekend with art business society. I am proactive, organised and excited to work closely with the students union and other committee members like the studio manager make sure Rare members get the most out of their society!
I’m standing for treasurer for because it’d be good to be involved in Rare FM again. I love the variety of shows on Rare and enjoy how it enables people to share music. I reckon i can use my organisational skills to get the best for Rare FM and help keep it an inclusive space where people can connect and collaborate.
