Psychology and Education Society: Welfare Officer

Hi everyone! My name is Feiying and I have enjoyed the events held by PES so far. Activities like speed-mentoring have really provided me with useful and valuable information about my further studies. As a Psychology with Education student and also a PES member, I would like to contribute more to this Society by joining as a welfare officer now. As the welfare officer, I will help organize the society's events and ensure its daily running. I will also try my best to help every student or member who is struggling with any issues during their university life. PES has enriched my university life and I would like to support the Society's to improve future student experiences.

What’s more important than being able to support the well-being of students of a psychology with education society? Being a Year 1 PES student this year really made me realise how many opportunities there are outside of simply academics itself. Being selected as the BPS student ambassador in UCL this year, I am confident and also very intrigued to further unravel the different areas of both psychology and education to cater the interests for my PES coursemates. This first year made me more selective in which roles and activities I’m most passionate about, and how I would commit my time and energy to them. If I was selected as the welfare officer for PES, you can be ensured that I would dedicate my physical and mental capability to this role and would embrace the different challenges ahead. I have been the mental health ambassador in my previous school as well as a marketing prefect so I would love to apply the skills I equipped along the way to aid me in this role. I hope to create a wonderful year for you guys and I’m sure I would help you all as much as how this role would help me. Thank you! <33
