Photo Society: Film Officer

Film has recently had a resurgence as a hugely popular medium for photography. I think maybe as a generation we are reaching for film as a way to make our photography more intentional, heartfelt, visually interesting or simply because the process is really fun. Whatever the reasons, I find this incredibly exciting and would love nothing more than to continue to promote and share this passion with others who love film or are simply curious and would like to get to know it a little better.

I've been shooting film for a few years now and I've loved how the format has really pushed me to consider every shot a lot more carefully. I find it incredibly rewarding and fun (and sometimes frustrating too). I'd love to continue to explore the range of what film can offer and find ways to experiment with new techniques!

As film enthusiasts, we all have so much to learn from each other, so the more we interact and share with each other, the more we'll grow as photographers. I'd also love to continue what this year's committee has started with the darkroom sessions and give everyone an opportunity to engage with the process first hand and allow us all to develop (pun intended) a deeper relationship to the craft.
