Nordic Society: Treasurer

Hej! I am Helmut, a second year biomedical student from Hong Kong. Nordic Society is the first society that I joined in UCL and that's undoubtedly one of the best decisions I have made. I have enjoyed the beginner Swedish and Finnish classes, as well as different socials like picnic, Nordic movie night, and the boat party. Everyone here is warm and welcomed me to the society. Although I am not Nordic myself, I am passionate about Nordic languages and culture, and absolutely love the vibe of the Nordic Society. Therefore, next year I would like to be a committee member and contribute to the running of Nordic Society.

As your Treasurer, it would be my responsibility to take charge of the financial matters and keep the budgeting of our society well-planned. If needed I will also collaborate with other committee members in the planning of different events, socials and promotions, to ensure a smooth running in the next academic year. The experiences of chairing student clubs and managing the school editorial board during high school would make me a competent candidate to take up this role. Altogether I want to make Nordic Society a friendly and rewarding place for our members, so they can enjoy all the Nordic culture and enrich their social life in UCL.
