Hi my name is Carmen and I'm a first-year undergraduate student studying BSc Infection and Immunity. Ever since joining MODO, I have been involved in every edition of the MODO MAGAZINE, leading my own concept pitch in the first edition, and modelled for multiple photoshoots. Not only has MODO significantly enhanced my self-confidence, it also enabled me to meet creative, motivational and inspiring people who share the same interest as mine. Hence, I would like to contribute back to this magnificent community as a treasurer and I will endeavour to my utmost capability to accommodate everyone’s needs.
Despite not being a finance major, I am willing to learn and commit hours each week to this position. I am currently self-learning Excel to embrace this great responsibility of a treasurer, maintaining the transparency of the society’s cash flow.
Below are goals and ideas for the future, if elected:
Goals:
- Bring back the biannual fashion show
- Hopefully a trip to the world’s leading fashion industry country, France ;)
- More socials events (inclusive to everyone!!) e.g annual fashion ball, GALA, themed-outfit outings
Fundraising ideas:
- Organise mini stalls on campus selling cute accessories
- Thrift sales
- Creating and selling merchandise designed by our very own MODO members
- Perhaps a fashion competition? (that’ll be fun)
- Create short videos/ reels (e.g fashion hacks, how to style, spring outfit ideas, etc.) to promote UCL MODO
Hi! I'm Annabelle, a first-year Arts and Sciences student.
I would love to be your next treasurer! As the main contributor to the development of my passions at UCL, it would be an honor to give back to this society. As a writer for the magazine, I was able to appreciate all the talent and hard work at MODO. I hope to keep this motivation and drive that runs throughout the society while incorporating new ambitions! I recognize the importance of this role and I will put in the effort and to apply all my skills developed through:
- A 6-month course of Fashion Design and Business at IDEP Barcelona, a top fashion school, providing a strong background in the financial sector of fashion
- Fashion trend analyst for Subdued analyzing consumer behavior
- Hoping to work with L'Oréal in the summer in the finance and marketing sector
- Extensive knowledge/interest in Economics
As for MODO, I plan on working with all the members of the society to ensure all your wants are heard, with my main ideas being:
- More exciting socials like balls and dances, bringing MODO closer together
- Involvement in London fashion events, from start-ups to Fashion Week! Creating deeper connections with the fashion industry
- Interactive and engaging workshops focusing on fashion design
- Make the fashion show reach its full potential, allowing students to bring their ideas to life and include brands and professionals in the field
- Ensuring all the creativity and power of its members is shown
