As a Neuroscience student hoping to attend medical school after graduating, I strongly believe in the power of focusing on one's lifestyle to maintain one's health in the long run.
My past leadership experience in organizing events and fundraisers and collaborating with peers have equipped me with the skills necessary to be President. I have experience working with other leaders, reaching out to other societies, and organizing the nitty gritty details of events such as booking venues and making itineraries.
Furthermore, my experience working in leadership committees and meetings has given me the necessary skills to collaborate with members from diverse backgrounds. For instance, I was a leader in a non-profit called Biology for Better Yangon, where I collaborated with volunteers that I have never met before to create educational materials on biology and health for underprivileged children. With such experiences, I am confident that I can work with current and new members to foster a sense of community, encourage participation and build a stronger and more inclusive society
I am excited about the opportunity to serve as President in UCL's Lifestyle Medicine Society. I believe my past leadership experience and commitment to preventative medicine make me fit for this role. If elected, I will work hard to promote healthy lifestyles and organize fun social events that can prevent illnesses and improve overall health outcomes. Thank you for considering my candidacy!
