Japan Society: Treasurer

I am Nanaka, 3rd year biomedical sciences student.

This society has helped me get used to university life and make friendship group.I know there are multiple freshers and existing students, including me, who have had hard time enjoying the time in university at the beginning. I want to contribute to Japan society to help out those students make friends and have wonderful time in university. 

The role of treasurer is one of the core jobs who needs to be responsible, accurate, and fast paced. I am a person who has learned responsibility of money calculation and management via cashier experience in part-time and through NCS where I needed to come up with a fundraising event for the local community. Furthermore, my experience of joining this society for two years, allowed me to learn how things are run in Japan society and how I can manage myself throughout the time of being committee. 

With this year’s boat party, sports day (undokai), and events with other universities, I am confident that I can push myself through until the end to make these wonderful events happen in a way that members can enjoy their time in Japan society. I will constantly communicate with other committees, work with them well, and follow deadlines, as well as listening to opinions of the members.

Once again, I am motivated to dedicate myself in making this year’s Japan society successful and enjoyable time for both members and committees. I hope you consider my nomination. Thank you.

  Hello everyone! My name is Mao and I am running for the position of Treasurer.

  During my first year of being a member of the Japan Society, I had the pleasure of participating in various social events. These events provided me with a valuable opportunity to meet both Japanese students and international students who share a common interest in our society. As Treasurer, I’ll work hard to maintain this welcoming atmosphere within our society.

  Although this is my first time running for the position of Treasurer, I am confident to take on the responsibilities that come with it. Throughout my duties, I’ll ensure our transparency and keep an accurate account of the society’s funds. Furthermore, I believe that this opportunity will help me to grow as a person.

  If I had the privilege to become the Treasurer, I will keep a good account of the society’s fund to ensure we get the most out of it.

Hello everyone, I am Emeric, 1st year mechanical engineering student, grown in London with Japanese and French origins.

I can confidently say that Japan society has been for me, during this past year, the best in providing the most enjoyable and fun events. What made them so unique and eventually make me fall in love with this society were the heart-warming experience and the people I was able to meet and share experiences with while in an organised and inclusive environment.

By noticing that this would not have been possible without a dedicated and enthusiastic committee, I am thankful to them and determined in keeping the unique traditions of the Japanese Society flowing to help provide an equivalent or if not better experience to next year’s newcomers as well as loyal current members.

As your Treasurer, I will:

• Ensure a smooth functioning of the society throughout the year by completing the Treasurer’s tasks (keeping records, doing reimbursements…) and go beyond (working with other committee members to secure new funds)
• Share my love for this society to help it flourish beautifully once again next year.

As an effective communicator and team worker, as well as a dropped-out math major, equipped with raw motivation to help meet everyone’s objective at their fullest potential, I am confident in being there for the society which was here for me this past year through this role.
