Zoe Gong

Hi everyone, I am Zoe, an incoming year 2 philosophy and economics student. I have had extensive leadership experience during the past few years. Except for being the president of my high school's investment society, I have co-founded a global teenage dream incubator to help teenagers to achieve some great ideas and successfully fundraised 25k pounds. Thus, I am confident that I have sufficient team-playing experience that enables me to be a good leader. Regardless of my own background, I'm dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for UCL investment society where members can advance their professional networks, expertise, and investment skills. Mentorship, in my opinion, is essential for both individual development and group success. If chosen, I will put out a lot of effort to provide valuable mentorship programmes that benefit every investor community member. Here is my manifesto that lists the main ideas and projects:

  • More experience sharing session: I will try to implement more comprehensive mentorship programs that cater to the diverse needs of our members. I know there is a wide range of interests from members, but unfortunately, we haven't held that many sharing sessions to actually provide a context/background in specific investment areas.
  • More networking sessions: I will try my best to maintain more connections of the investment society with firms within the investment field, so that it could possibly create more opportunities for members to build up their network and gain more inside information for their

Lincoln Cheng

Hey everyone, I'm Lincoln, a Year 1 PPE Student.

As the current VP of UCLUNA, I have been recognised for my strong leadership and communication skills in managing various activities for society. I have also participated in over 30 MUN conferences, including Harvard WorldMUN and LIMUN, where I attained several awards for my performance, all of which indicate my analytical and leadership capabilities.

My attendance at the 2022 UCL Finance Conference and the Harvard Diplomacy Ball in Paris, also allowed me to network with professionals, where I attained valuable knowledge on the latest trends in the financial world.

Moreover, I have volunteered in LEDCs such as in Laos to improve the lives of underprivileged communities. I have also been a student mentor during Sixth Form, supporting students in their academic and personal development. These all indicate my capabilities not only as a leader but also as a guide, rendering me a good fit for this role.

If elected as VP Mentorship, I intend to:

- Develop a tailored program that matches mentors and mentees based on their interests and goals

- Monitor and evaluate the progress and feedback of the mentorship pairs

- Help organise regular workshops/ seminars to provide opportunities for networking with industry professionals and alumni

I am confident my skillsets will add value to Investment Society should I become Vice President for Mentorship, thus I implore you to provide your vote of confidence in this election.
