Anna Konietzko

Hello everyone! My name is Anna, and I'm currently a First-Year Representative of the Investment Society. I'm excited to announce that I'm running for the position of Executive of Speaker Relations.

Throughout this academic year, I've gained valuable experience on numerous occasions as I've co-led the Society's Instagram account and organized the "How to Start Sustainably Investing" event with Jessica Robinson. During the UCL Finance Conference, I was also responsible for capturing it through photography and coordinating the events with our guests, thereby getting my further experiences in the tasks of Executive of Speaker Relations.

As this position is vital for facilitating the career prospects of our society members through career-related events, moving forward, I have following plans for our society:

First, I want to utilize our network of alumni by building lasting connections with them so that our members can get the essential insights into the alumni's career progression and industry.

Secondly, I aim to strengthen our connections to potential employers through events such as Coffee Chats and skill showcases through ongoing communication. Our successful collaboration with Point72 is an example of this, and I hope to build on this success to help our members make valuable connections.

To ensure that my focus will be on promoting, evaluating and executing the event as well as possible including introducing the speakers, and addressing any concerns that arise during an event.

Thank you for considering my candidacy!

Hamish Gray

I believe that the role of a Speaker Relations Executive is crucial in facilitating learning opportunities for members of the Investment Society. By carefully selecting and inviting industry experts to speak at events, I can help members gain access to unique perspectives and valuable information. By organizing events, I can help foster a community of learning and growth, where members can network with one another and discuss ideas.

I possess strong interpersonal skills that would allow me to effectively communicate with potential speakers and members of the Investment Society. I am confident in my ability to create positive relationships with speakers, both during the invitation process and during the events themselves.

Overall, I am motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the Investment Society. By providing members with access to industry experts and fostering a community of learning, I believe that I can help others succeed in the finance industry. My passion for finance, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills make me an ideal candidate for the position of Speaker Relations Executive.

Aakash Patel

Hi everyone, my name is Aakash Patel. I'm a first-year Maths with Econ student and am running to be your Speaker Relations Executive next year.

As an Executive, I'll be confident in reaching out and attracting the very best speakers to provide our members with the most insightful events. Having worked with high net-worth clients at a Wealth Management firm, I believe that I have developed an understanding of market trends and will be able to execute incisive interviews with leaders in the industry.

The highlight of UCLIS for me personally this year, has been the Point72 Coffee Chat and Speaker Event. The event presented a rare and unique opportunity for members to be introduced into career prospects at a global hedge fund. After attending this talk, I realised the impact I could make for UCLIS members as the Executive for Speaker Relations, changing the way members perceive the world of finance. I look forward to the chance of joining the committee and provide the renowned speaker events that UCLIS is known for.
