Hiking Club: Treasurer

Hey, I'm Michael! Over the past year, Hiking club has given me the chance to immerse myself in nature all while sharing the trail with truly amazing people!

As Treasurer I will:

• Promote accessibility by leveraging society funds to subsidise residentials and transport costs for hikes, ensuring that our adventures remain open to everyone, while maintaining our fair and affordable membership fee.
• Ensure continued financial sustainability by monitoring our income, expenditures, and balances, working closely with the President and Committee to ensure efficient and effective use of our resources.
• Streamline administration by managing event tickets, merchandise sales, expenses, and reimbursements efficiently, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for all members.
• Support the Committee in planning and executing residentials, hikes and club events, making sure we maintain high levels of member satisfaction and participation.
• Maintain and develop new relationships with sponsors, while continuing our charity efforts.

Throughout my past experience as a High School student rep I developed merchandise, organised events and managed the student budget effectively. During previous work experience I have helped plan multi-day corporate off-site events. 
This makes me feel confident I can serve effectively as your Treasurer.

Hello, everyone! I'm Anna, a third-year student pursuing BSc Social Sciences. Originally from Germany, I have come to deeply enjoy hiking, because it offers me a chance to explore breath-taking scenery, connect with a diverse range of people and always allows a break from London's crowds. Now, I want to give back and contribute to the society. Hiking is a perfect escape from university stress, allowing us to connect with nature and bond with others.

As a team player, I am determined to support the hiking society by planning exciting events throughout the upcoming year. Hi everyone, my name is Ryoma and I’m a first-year Geography student. I am running for Treasurer because I want to contribute to our club by managing the finance. I'd say I'm an intermediate hiker, and my favourite hike so far has been that exquisite the Arran trip. 

As Treasurer I will: 

• Continue subsidising our residentials because they really give meaning to our club as compared to hiking with close friends. 
• Work to widen the range of our club merchandise. 
• Work with other committee members to promote hikes and social events for existing and potential members. 
• Promote our charity events more to increase our public impact. 

Previous experiences: 

• Produced my high school’s Graduation Ceremony and led my seniors to negotiate with other committees and teachers. 
• Co-designed the leavers’ hoodie for my year group. 
• Co-created memory-lane videos. 
• As a senior of the Sports Festival, I co-produced the highlights.
