Jocelyn Chen

Hi, I am Jocelyn, the Executive of Research this year. I would like to run for the Treasurer position for the next academic year!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a senior editor in the UCL FinTech Review and would like to carry on to make this community a better place. As a treasurer, I will work hard for society finances (including budgeting, sponsorship, and merchandise organising) and act as a second liaison with the Student Union.

I look forward to leading the FinTech Society to new heights alongside the committee, so I would really appreciate your support!!

Hi, I am Valentina, a first-year Economics undergraduate student at UCL.

For me, the responsibility of a treasurer is allocating the financial resources effectively to maximise the members’ benefit. With a solid financial modelling background, I understand the responsibility and would like to commit myself as a treasurer in the FinTech society this year.

If appointed, I will:

  • Manage and maintain a good financial position for the society by keeping financial details on track weekly

  • Work extensively with the committees to best utilise the financial resources to deliver high-quality activities and events for all our members

  • Introduce more funding and secure more partnerships to help the scaling of the society to provide tangible benefits for all our members

  • Build upon and initiative more inclusive programmes such as “Shadowing Women in Tech” to promote an inclusive and healthy environment

I am looking forward to bringing my skills and passion into this role and am grateful for your trust and support.
