Juliana Kusiima

Hi, my name is Juliana and I am running for the position of Secretary for the Women’s Cricket Society.

If elected I would aim to:

  • Work with the rest of the committee to increase the visibility of women's cricket within UCL
  • Support the committee with attracting and retaining members
  • Support the committee with a smooth organisation and implementation of meetings
  • Ensure all members are informed of all necessary news and announcements
  • Encourage an avenue for collaboration between the committee and society members

I think these aims would have an impact on this society as although it is newly established, increased engagement and outreach would contribute to its success.

I have personally played cricket for around 7 years and I have been engaged in cricket at UCL throughout this year. Therefore, I am extremely passionate about the sport and would love to support the women’s society with its objectives.

I am an insightful and resilient person with a can-do attitude. I currently work as a mental health support worker which I have done for 2 years and has provided me with valuable experience that can be applied to welfare and community roles. I have been able to improve my transferable skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, etc. Prior to this, I have taken part in leadership roles such as being a prefect in secondary school and a junior leadership team member in sixth form.

Thank you!
