Gautham Venu

Hi I'm G, you might remember me from such boats as the BUCS 4 that sank and the double that lost to (f)Luke at Peterborough regatta!

I have "been decided" to run as Vice-President in order to bring my many, many years of wisdom to the current committee, which, frankly, is mostly composed of very young children. I have been rowing for >10 years, and frankly avoiding responsibility all that time. However, as I come towards the swansong of my career, I feel like should probably give something back.

I have genuinely loved my time so far at UCLBC, and would like to ensure that current and future members share this experience! I have been a part of several boat clubs over many years - so I believe I can bring some of my previous knowledge and experience to the committee.

In terms of 'policy,' I believe that the committee should be more 'open' and transparent to all members, to ensure that all perspectives are heard and that the club as a whole understands the path we want to take. Although I am a little trepidatious about it, I will try my best to facilitate the 'club' side and work with the other members to make it as successful as possible.

I promise this isn't a meme. Probably. Cheers.
