Hi everyone, I'm Kerrie! I'm a first-year student studying BSc Psychology with Education, and I'd love the opportunity to be your PES Treasurer for 2026-2027! :)
I'm an organised and reliable person who always puts others first. That's why I believe I would be a great fit for Treasurer - I’d make sure our funds are distributed in a way that keeps events affordable, fun, and focused on what members actually want! To do this, I'd love to explore fundraising ideas like psychology pub quiz nights, bake sales, and charity collaborations to help us afford bigger events like themed socials and career-focused panels with guest speakers. As a current IOE Academic Rep, I know how important it is to consider others' feedback and ideas to ensure sessions are as beneficial for students as possible. As your Treasurer, I’d make sure I'm always approachable to society members so they feel comfortable to share ideas or concerns, knowing that these will be transparently reflected in our spending. Between my degree and my years of hospitality experience (where I’ve handled payments/ invoices and managed other staff), I’ve grown confident in meeting deadlines, organising budgets and responsibilities, working with numbers, and communicating efficiently with others, which would support the smooth running of PES as a whole.
Thank you for reading my manifesto! Consider me for your next Treasurer and I'll make every penny count ;)
I’m Emilia and I’m applying to be the treasurer of the psychology with education society.
Since starting my degree last September, I’ve taken part in various events organised by the society, such as the Freud museum trip and the IOE ball. I’d love to be part of the team organising these events in the year to come, especially for the new cohort of year 1 students to provide them with a great first year experience.
I believe I’d be a great addition to the committee as I’ve had leadership roles in the past such as, as a lunchtime supervisor and a student librarian at my secondary school. In these roles I’ve developed the organisation and collaboration skills required to work in a team. Additionally, I’ve enjoyed maths since a young age, so the role of the treasurer, (for example setting budgets and calculations) would align with these interests.
