As a member of MODO and as current Head of Design for the society, I feel it is only natural that I would want to push my involvement in the group further. MODO has been a central part of my time at UCL, and I just want to continue contributing to the team and giving all I have to offer for the society.
I have relevant experience in leadership and team building, as Head of Design for MODO in 2025/26, I was in charge of a team of approx. 20 designers, and was responsible for planning the design schedule, organising regular meetings and sewing workshops, and making sure everything was running smoothly on the day of the show.
I think the same qualities that were useful to me as Head of Design, and that I have continued to build on this year, make me a great candidate for the role of President of the society.
As President, I plan to continue the amazing work our previous Presidents have done. However, something I wish to build on compared to previous years is to make the society more attentive to what sort of events members want to see the society host. While the fashion show and our mag launches are always our biggest events of the year, I think MODO could built its engagement by hosting more small socials and informal events such as movie or award screenings, design and artsy workshops, as well as organising more collabs with photography society (such as photoshoots for instance).
If these are things you would like to see MODO do, vote for me!
Hello MODO Fashion Society, my name is Olive, I’m coming up on my third year of Natural Sciences at UCL and I’ve been in MODO since I was a fresher!
I’ve designed with Zon for this and last year’s fashion shows. These experiences have shown me just how much talent and passion exists within this society. And in my third year I’m looking to play an even bigger part in helping MODO grow.
As President, alongside organising the fashion show, I would focus on creating more opportunities for our designers to showcase their work and on building stronger collaborations with our sister societies. I want MODO to be a space where members feel supported, recognised, and excited to share their creativity.
My line will always be open to all members of MODO for any recommendations to improve the society, the events or for any general queries.
I’m excited to work with the rest of our fabulous committee to bring MODO’s fabulous members into the spotlight.
