Hello! My name is Sera Bajaj, and I'm standing for the position of 'Social Secretary' for UCL Kickboxing! My interest in this role stems from a deep appreciation for all the participants of the Kickboxing Society, and a desire to cultivate a sense of community within the club. The reason I joined the Kickboxing society in the first place was the relaxed, open atmosphere, and it's what motivated me to continue with the sport. I'd welcome the change to create same feeling of acceptance that I experienced in the club, both for our new members and the experienced.
Through my past role as Events Officer for UCL Kickboxing during the 2025-26 school year, I gained valuable experience in the planning and execution of events (e.g. this year's Wine and Cheese night, Paint & Sip) and I would love to continue the same capacity of the work moving into the next school year. I genuinely enjoy helping out and collaborating with the rest of the Committee to deliver meaningful experiences, and have even more ideas for social events for the next year. I am also motivated to implement a community-based approach to the events held - directly taking in your input for what you want to do, and fulfilling that vision to the best of my ability.
Above all, I really appreciate the opportunity to be considered for this position, and I hope I put forward a sufficiently convincing case to vote for me! Regardless of anything - you'll definitely see me around next year helping out. <3
Doing kickboxing, i know that you feel good mentally after each session, the adrenaline and the endorphins flow, and you feel that positivity.
I do believe however, that we should feel good socially also, despite the fact that Wednesdays are taken up by training, we should also feel like we've made the most of our partially free wednesday afternoons, whether we've trained or not. I think should collaborate with other marital arts societies and I think we should organise more socials, which I would ensure to do, if i was awarded the opportunity to represent us as social sec.
