Adam Zhou

Helloo,

I’m Adam Zhou, I'm a first year student studying Economics, your current Treasurer, and an Academic Representative for the Class of 2028. I’m running again for the 2026–2027 academic year because I loved my work here this year I want to keep building on the progress we have made this year.

For me, what defines our society is that we think big.

This year, we have gone for bigger events, better partnerships, faster communication, and stronger visibility and next year, I want us to keep that same energy. There is real potential for us to secure more sponsors, bring in even more high-level speakers, and make opportunities that set our society apart.

Ambition is important, but it also needs structure.

As the Treasurer, I’m the one making sure our biggest ideas actually have the funding to happen. Next year, we will continue expanding sponsor outreach and managing our budget carefully so that when we commit to something, we can deliver the best possible outcome.

As a course Rep, I’m also in regular contact with the Economics faculty, which lets me have access to communication between both students, staff, and the committee.

I’m super motivated to see the Economist's Society grow even more next year and I'm ready to support that growth fully.

Vote for me for free food and to take our society further together!

Apsara Naguleswaran

I would be a strong Treasurer because I have built a strong financial and analytical background through internships and work experience in finance. I have completed programmes with Bank of America, Ardea Partners, Fidelity, TD Securities, Scotiabank, and JP Morgan, which helped develop my attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to work accurately under pressure.

I also completed work experience at HM Treasury in London, where I gained insight into budgeting, organisation, and financial decision-making.   These experiences taught me skills that are essential for a Treasurer, such as responsibility, organisation, and managing financial information carefully.

Alongside this, I would also want to support first-year representatives and newer committee members by helping them become more confident using Excel and other financial tools. I would aim to create a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable learning new skills and contributing to the team.

Overall, I believe my combination of financial experience, teamwork, and willingness to help others would allow me to be a reliable and approachable Treasurer.
