Hi, I’m Christy, and I'm a 1st-year AMS student! I’m running for Treasurer as I would love the opportunity to help grow this society into something genuinely helpful and welcoming for everyone!
I completely understand from my own experience the importance of meeting people at the start of the year and building friendships early on. I'd like to be part of creating this for our new Year 1s, while also providing an environment for us where we can get to know each other better and help each other out, whether academically or socially. I want to help the society offer more variety, from academic support and career-related events to socials. I want to make sure our funds support a good balance of academic, career-related and social stuff.
So as your Treasurer, my top priority would be managing the society’s finances responsibly so that events are affordable, well-planned, and genuinely worth your time. I will ensure that clear records of spending are kept, budgets are planned properly, and I will also work closely with the rest of the committee when budgeting for events, ensuring funds are used to benefit as many students as possible.
I’m organised and detail-oriented, which I think are important qualities for a reliable Treasurer. I'm confident with numbers so I believe I can do this role well!
I understand how valuable a good society can be, especially for students settling into their first year. I would absolutely love the chance to contribute!
hi everyone i'm jacy, a first-year Nutrition and Medical Sciences student and i'm running for Treasurer because i want our budget to be organised, transparent, and completely free of unnecessary chaos. no drama, no confusion, no stress.
i've managed real budgets before through a student-run social enterprise that raised over HKD5000 (GBP500) for charity, and i won gold + best in year in the UKMT Maths Challenge (numbers and i get along very well). i also did A-Level Maths & an independent science fair project prior to university, which helped me build strong analytical skills and taught me how to handle data with accuracy. in short: your money is safe. VERY safe.
as Treasurer, i'll:
keep finances transparent and easy to understand; no mysterious transactions, no confusing breakdowns, no 'where did that £50 go?' moments
make events accessible without sacrificing fun
maintain accurate records
my goal is simple: smooth finances, zero drama, and a society that feels fun, friendly, and easy to be part of. you enjoy the events, i'll handle the maths. if that's the energy you want, i'd really appreciate your vote.
