Division of Medicine Society: Education and Academic Officer

Hi, it’s Alexandra!
This year, a dedicated group of friends and I, from year 1 IMS, submitted an application form in an attempt to make the Division of Medicine Society a reality. Having discussed the importance of a shared platform to facilitate note sharing and revision sessions to consolidate learning with year 1 peers, the role of Education and Academic Officer is something I am passionate about.

Experience:
Relevant past experiences that I acquired include being a Biology Ambassador in year 12 and Head Biology Ambassador in year 13 at school, where my duties included organising revision sessions and teaching pupils of year 12, in preparation for their AS-levels. Other experiences under my belt include being part of the Student Council, Prefect in year 13 and House Captain in year 11, which may display determination, leadership skills and teamwork.

My vision:
If elected as Education and Academic Officer, I will work to bring your ideas forth and organise weekly and monthly revision sessions on examinable content during the course of and after the completion of each module. I aim to organise workshops where students from the year above will provide support and advice on coursework and assignments. Finally, I aim to work closely with transition mentors, student representatives and academic staff in coordinating helpful events which will benefit all students.
