Hi I'm Maya and I would love to be your next TD producer! After experiencing my first uni comp season this past year I've fallen in love with it all and being able to produce our home comp would be such an exciting opportunity. I've been dancing since I was 3 and have always loved how it’s such a creative and free form of expression, and comps brings together so many talented people to share their talent.
As a physics student, I'm naturally very organised and detail oriented as well as being comfortable in a leadership role due to my time as head prefect in my sixth form. I'm experienced in leading a team to organise and run several events, particularly when planning our school's formal cabaret, including creating a theme, advertising and decor, as well as the administrative side of things like ticketing, budgeting and venue. I also choreographed several prefect dances and ran the overall variety show of the night.
I love connecting with others and learning from professionals in the industry and won't be afraid to reach out to find the best judges possible. They are such key figures and I want to make sure that between the three of them, they have been trained in all styles of dance being competed. So yes judges that really know what they're looking for when watching ballet or tap compete and not just hip hop and contemporary. I'm also easily reachable and will stay in touch with other uni comp coordinators to ensure that TD runs smoothly and is a fun experience for everyone!
Hi, I’m Chelsea Cheng, running as your TD Producer.
From Freshers’ Show, Comp Season to Blooms, I’ve fallen in love with the atmosphere and spirit of UCL Dance. TD being my first inter-uni comp left me in awe. The image of Bubbles dancing, cheers of the crowd are still fresh in my mind. It’s this experience I want to create and pass on, hence, standing for this role.
Since six, I've spent years competing in inter-school comps ranging across ballet, jazz, contemp and tap. This breadth has taught me the deep importance of balanced appreciation among dances. My experience in leading a board of 20 as Head of International Students and served on a House Committee of 4, built my confidence in producing TD with a team of three or more, staying grounded in the details while fostering collaboration.
I’m a responsible and organised person. Running Events Committee and participating in Model United Nations have sharpened my communication skills, I am ready to be the first point of contact for other uni co-coordinators, judges and photographers, while staying active in general committee duties.
Being part of TD this year, I understand the level of expectation, the importance of venue, atmosphere, amenities and usage space for dancers. TD is more than just a comp, it is our collective memory. The journey of producing TD won’t be easy, but certainly worthwhile. I can’t wait to work with the Comp Prod team to build a successful comp season, turning artistic concepts into reality.
Vote for me :))
Hello, my name is Virginia and I am standing for Transcendance Producer because competitive dance is my background, having participated in ICE and Jamfest comps since I was little — ifykyk. I would love to help produce Transcendance and bring everything I have learnt to it, incorporating ideas such as freebies and fun games during waits. I'm sure that this role is admin-heavy in the lead-up to the competition, so I'm prepared to always be available to respond to emails and WhatsApps. Furthermore, I am really passionate about Dance Soc and love how it brings people together, so through Transcendance I would want to continue this tradition and sense of community.
