Hi y'all,
I'm Aryan, and I've been super lucky to have been your Treasurer this year!
I want to be Vice President of the Classics Society because I’m genuinely excited about what we can build next. This Society has so much potential, and I’m ready to help push it into a bigger, bolder, more dynamic year. Having been Treasurer, I’ve seen how much enthusiasm our members bring, and how much more we can unlock with the right leadership and momentum.
As VP, I want to help create a Society that feels alive: events that people look forward to, academic opportunities that spark real curiosity, and a community where everyone feels they belong. I’m energised by the chance to work closely with the President to deliver a programme that’s ambitious, well‑organised and full of variety—from talks and reading groups to socials, collaborations and new ideas we haven’t tried yet.
My experience as Lead Academic Rep means I know how to advocate, coordinate and get things done. I enjoy bringing people together, solving problems quickly and keeping things moving. Most of all, I care about Classics and the people who study it. Being VP would let me channel that energy into shaping a Society that’s vibrant, welcoming and genuinely exciting to be part of.
Hi everyone! My name is Mollie, I am a first-year Classicist. I’m nominating myself for the position of Vice President. Having been a member of the Classics society this year, I’ve loved the socials, toga-parties and community that the Classics society has introduced me to.
Classics gives us all the opportunity to be well-rounded and have an interdisciplinary understanding of the humanities. I am passionate about this and would love it if I could incorporate this into events, socials and our approach. As Vice President, I would aid the President to include and organise, ensuring that every member feels validated and supported within the society.
I would focus on three things:
- Creating engaging socials, targeting networking and strengthening nurturing academic communities.
- Collaborating with other humanities communities, to widen and expand the reach of Classics.
- Inviting speakers like past alumni and prominent academics to talk about topics that would encourage interest in the younger generation of Classicists to support their studies.
Having experience within past museum work placements and being part of the Northwest Classics Association, I understand how crucial it is to promote nurturing academic spaces, outside of the lecture-room to foster interest separate from the degree. I am organised, focused and would love the opportunity to support and foster the interest of other budding Classicists!
