Hey I’m Oscar – a first year English student and this year’s fresher rep!
Since coming to UCL, Snowsports has become a key part of my uni experience; giving me the opportunity to expand a hobby I’ve enjoyed all my life. Meeting people who share a passion for Snowsports and providing a chance for me to try ski racing and competitive skiing.
I have already begun organising in person meetings with our elected Trip Secretary over the summer, to plan and coordinate our marketing campaign for the 2025/26 ski trips. As well as pre-preparing templates for our posts surrounding socials and competitions throughout next year. Specifically the start - to make the intial promotion of our club as affective and seamless as possible, as this period of term one is critical for our growth.
I also aim to increase the awareness around our trainings and competitions, as between our trips they make up the bulk of our club's content. Consistently posting clips and reminders will draw more people to our higher tiered memberships.
I would like to repeat the use of a professional edit of our winter ski trip, as I believe it will prove to be successful in enticing a broader and deeper pool of members from next year's campaign.
In my mind being Media and Marketing Secretary would give me the responsibilty of raising awareness of our club - making it the ideal role for me to have a direct impact on the expansion of Snowsports, and sharing these great experiences I've enjoyed with next year's members!

🙏🏻

I bled for this club. Let me post for it too.
Hi, I’m Frank.
I joined Snowsports to have fun, make friends, and not wipe out on an easy blue. Two out of three’s not bad, right?
Honestly, this club gave me some of my best moments. From bruises in VT to chaotic pres at the Rocket, I’ve shown up, I’ve been involved, and now I’m back — to take on the club’s most chaotic job: Media & Marketing Officer.
Why me?
- I’ve got the gear (iPhone 15), the vision, and the drive to make Snowsports feel like the biggest club in UCL,
- I’ll shoot, edit and post ’til 3am if it means your highlight reel hits harder.
- My passion for aesthetic content is only rivalled by my love for fondue and French red.
What I’ll bring:
- BTS edits of races, Scala sports nights, and your most chaotic falls.
- Member takeovers, POV reels, and story highlights - because we deserve more than committee-only content.
- Smart, targeted sponsorship pushes with dream brands like GoPro and North Face.
Above all - I’ll back the committee’s #1 goal: sell out the trip.
Every reel, poster and caption will pack the coaches, fill the slopes, and keep this club thriving.
I might not be leading BUCS.
I might not be dancing on Folie Douce tables.
But I will be behind the lens - making you look like you’re in a Red Bull ad.
Vote Frank.
For the content. For the culture. For the chaos.

Hi! I’m Imogen and I’d love to be your next Media & Marketing Sec, because while I may not be the loudest voice at the bar, I am the one who shows up, gets things done, and knows how to make you look cool on social media.
I’ve been at nearly every training session, survived the ski trip (with my dignity mostly intact), and quietly fallen in love with this society: the skiing, the people, and the zero judgement on how many drinks count as “too many.” While I haven’t made a big splash socially (I’m more grandma than party animal), I have consistently shown up, and I want to give back to the society that’s given me so much.
I’ve got experience managing big projects (I herded an entire year group into a yearbook, I can definitely manage a few helmet sticker designs and chaotic post-trip reels), and I’m ready to bring more life to our socials; especially TikTok. Expect more content, more fun, and maybe even some merch that won’t get you roasted on the chairlift.
Vote for me if you want reliability, creativity, and a touch of dry humour behind the lens.
Let’s make Snowsports look as cool online as we all think we look on the slopes.

Hi! I’m Lia and I would be a great Media Sec because I’m enthusiastic, approachable, and committed to getting everyone involved in the Snowsports community on the slopes and in socials. I’ve been in the society for two years now and I am passionate about improving accessibility to snowsports, making everyone feel welcome and represented, regardless of experience level. I’ll work closely with the rest of the committee to make sure all sides of the society are represented and celebrated. I want our social media to be more than just event promos but reflect the people, energy, and spirit that make our society what it is.
I plant to post frequently and focus on showcasing our community through vlog style content, ski edits, and interview-like posts with members alongside event promos. I want society members to feel like part of the creative process through takeovers, shoutouts, and shared content. I have experience in marketing from my work experience Pinterest where I helped with their advertising. I also want to experiment with different media like digital cameras and disposables to give our content a unique, consistent aesthetic that stands out.
You can expect more skiing content, behind-the-scenes moments, and more personality in every post. Whether a first-timer or a seasoned skier, I’ll make sure everyone can feel part of the action and the spotlight. I hope to make snowsports more visible and more engaging for everyone at UCL!
Hiya, I'm Sam, a 2nd year human scientist!
In Snowsports I’ve seen a reoccurring issue: engagement of individuals comes in waves (ie: me). Since starting at UCL, I’ve met people unsure if they can return to training after not coming for a bit or unsure if they are able to join in the first place. This last year of Snowsports has seen a massive increase in the use of social media as a point of communication and I hope to build on this.
Media is a unique tool that we can utilise to its utmost potential to show everyone a snippet of our club. I think we can get involvement up by making training and races seem less unapproachable. By filming clips of different facets of our sports (training, racing, even the journey there) and providing posts that give a run through of all the upcoming month’s social calendar, we will minimise the fear of trying something new and keep old members returning for more.
Having worked as the media manager at a ski school, I understand that consistency in posting and clear communication leads to higher practical engagement. Also, this year, I was social sec for the boat club (sorry for being MIA) which taught me about the importance of organization and communication in the functioning of large societies.
This club has so much more to offer than ski trips and ski shots and I want everyone else to see that too. Also, (let’s be real) we all like a good shot of ourselves in action and I will happily be behind the camera making sure no one gets missed out!
