Salsa Society: Events Coordinator

I’m running for Events Coordinator because, over the past two years, I’ve become incredibly passionate about salsa and our society’s kind, supportive, and welcoming community. Salsa’s been a huge part of my experience at uni, and I want to continue giving back to this amazing society.

For most of this year, I’ve been one of the society’s Communications Officers, a role that’s helped my understanding of how the society operates and given me a good insight into the society’s different larger scale events. By continuing to be a part of the committee, I want to ensure a smooth transition into the next year whilst finding ways to make the society even more enticing for both current and prospective members.

My skills in organisation, attention to detail, and effective communication have helped me succeed as a Comms Officer, and I’ll continue to apply them by planning and organising events including balls, boat parties and more. Through this role, I intend to work with the rest of the committee to aid the growth of the society, and collaborate with other societies to create bigger and better events for us to share different skills and cultures with even more people.

Above all, I want to ensure members experience the same positive impact that salsa has had on me—boosting my confidence, expanding my social circle with the loveliest of people, and creating unforgettable memories. I’m excited to help make Salsa Soc a space where everyone feels connected and can always have a great time!!
