Romanian and Moldovan Society: President

Bună! 
I’m Estera and I’m running for president  :) 

I’m Romanian, grew up in the UK, but spent  all my summers in Romania, fully immersed in language, music, and traditions. Not living there has actuallt made that connection even more special.

I’d love to share that with others and build a space that challenges stereotypes and celebrates everything Romania and Moldova have to offer. 

What is on offer:

• Casual socials (pub trips, BBQs, film nights) 

• Cultural events (Mărțișor Christmas traditions, traditional food, dance workshops) 

• Embassy visits, talks around politics, identity, language

• Collabs with other unis (been chatting w KCL, LSE, City etc.) and Balkan & Slavic societies (bonus: I'm half Czech) 

I’ll keep things interactive through Instagram ensure everything is shaped by what you actually want. Make it a friend group as much as a soc.  

Why me: 
I’m a social bridge between Romania/Moldova and the UK. 
I study ESPS International Relations, genuinely interested in how Romania and Moldova fit into broader global conversations. I’ve had experience running social media, organising events, and working with different communities. I’m organised, approachable, and invested in building something meaningful. 

I want the society to bring people together; whether you're from Romania or Moldova, part of the diaspora, or just curious to learn more.
