Hi everyone - I’m running for Sponsorships Chair because I see real potential for MedTech Society to grow its presence, expand its partnerships, and become a powerful bridge between students and the MedTech industry. I want to help make that happen.
I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure of the full scope of the role yet. But what I do know is that I’m not afraid to take initiative, reach out, and learn on the job — fast. I’ve cold-emailed CEOs (including the CEO of The Whit) to get conversations started, and I’ve led hackathon teams to success. I’ve always been someone who enjoys stepping into the unknown, figuring things out, and delivering results.
This year, I’ve already been actively involved with MedTech Society - I took part in the mentorship programme, connected with industry experts, and attended conferences and events. So I’ve seen first-hand what the society is capable of - and where it could go next. I’ve tried to be part of the team already, and this feels like the right step forward.
My communication skills and willingness to take on challenges are what set me apart. I’m confident I can represent the society well to sponsors, negotiate persuasively, and build lasting relationships that benefit both the society and its members. I want to make MedTech not just well-funded, but also well-connected to create opportunities that genuinely excite people.
Thanks for considering me :)

Hello! My name is Jane. I have been a part of the Medtech society from the moment I joined the university. Now that I am set to intercalate in Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering next year, I would be honoured to join the committee on the mission of helping other students uncover their passion for the field.
I have been part of the RUMS Welfare subcommittee this year, and I have gained valuable experience in event organisation, including venue selection and catering options exploration. It also taught me skills applicable to any team or committee, such as professional communication, workload distribution and time management. I see myself as a hard-working team member who is not afraid of taking on responsibility and who helps others to achieve the best results.
As your Sponsorship Chair, I believe I can bring my persistence and creativity to help potential partners notice us—and bring unique perks to our members.
My main goals are:
- Explore new sponsorships for the annual conferences
- Expand the pool of funding to accommodate a bigger variety of events
- Seek collaborations to bring direct benefits to the members (think special discounts and deals)
- Connect with the industry to look for internship opportunities.
I'd be honoured to join the committee, and I am excited for the year ahead!

Hi! I’m Juri, and I’m running for the SPONSORSHIPS CHAIR position!
I enjoyed being a Mentorship Programme Chair this year, and I want to be part of the committee again to maintain and improve the society I love!
I will do this by:
- Sponsorship for the ENTIRE YEAR
I will make a list of companies, especially in the MedTech field, and start contacting them during the summer, to be ready before the year starts! - Bringing INDUSTRY CONNECTIONS for our members
Building industry connections while seeking sponsorships, I will seek to share such connections with our members, possibly offering opportunities for, for example, finding internships, which is so important to many of us to decide on our future :)
Why me?:
- This year, I served as a Mentorship Programme Chair, so I have a basic knowledge of how the committee works and the main events we do!
- I acutely realised the importance of sponsorships, for example, to organise our networking event; I know how crucial and responsible this role is to run the society!
- With the mentorship team, we gathered 24 mentors with cold-messaging - I want to bring in such outreaching skills and connections to the role to keep improving our society experiences!
Thank you so much for reading til the end, and please contact me at @juri.y77 on Instagram or juri.yano.23@ucl.ac.uk if you have any questions!
I truly believe in the importance of this role and want to make this society an even better place next year, so please vote for me! :)

Hi MedTech members,
I’m Catharina, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student! I’m excited to run for Sponsorship Chair because I’ve seen firsthand just how vital funding is to the success of student-led events as this year's Engineering Society's First Year Rep.
This year, I’ve worked closely with the Engineering Society sponsorship team, which allowed understand how to secure high-level sponsorships from companies like Bloomberg, Shell, and Qualcomm. That experience has shown me how much time, strategy, and persistence it takes, especially over the summer, to lay the groundwork for the next academic year. I’m fully prepared and excited to commit that effort to ensure MedTech gets the support it deserves.
I believe that by securing strong sponsorships, we can not only elevate the scale and quality of our flagship events but also increase the number of sponsor-led initiatives, such as hands-on workshops, hackathons, and networking sessions, that cater to the diverse interests of our members.
If elected, I’ll focus on building long-term partnerships across industry sectors, so that the MedTech society can continue to thrive in the long term.
Thank you for your consideration :)
Catharina
