Juman Al Naser

I am excited to run for the position of Marketing Officer for the MedTech Society because I believe my background, skills, and experiences make me well-suited for this role. I have a strong passion for medical technology and a deep interest in how marketing strategies can drive the success of innovative products and initiatives in this field. My internship at the GIANT Health Event will also provide me with hands-on experience in marketing within the healthcare and MedTech sector, allowing me to understand how to effectively communicate complex medical technology concepts to diverse audiences.

Beyond technical skills, I bring creativity, initiative, and a collaborative spirit to the role. I’m genuinely passionate about building a vibrant and engaged community within the MedTech Society, where students feel inspired and informed about the latest innovations in healthcare. Additionally, I have acquired valuable marketing skills through past projects and coursework, and I am confident in my ability to create engaging content, manage social media platforms, and organize events that promote the society’s mission and objectives. I am eager to leverage my experiences to help increase visibility for the MedTech Society, attract more members, and foster stronger partnerships with industry leaders. I’m excited to bring fresh ideas to the role, using both my internship experience and my academic knowledge to strategically enhance the society’s marketing efforts.

Melanie Cheung

Hello! My name is Melanie, and I am a first-year Applied Medical Sciences student. Along with my growing interest in the STEM field, I have always had a passion for social media and marketing. Having had marketing experience from various clubs at my high school as well as from my hobbies, I have developed proficiency in using different softwares/platforms such as Canva, Photoshop, FinalCut Pro as well as Capcut. I plan to develop visually appealing and informative materials to showcase our events and initiatives and utilize diverse platforms to reach a broader audience. My previous experiences and aspirations honed my skills in creating engaging content and managing effective campaigns, which is what would make me an ideal candidate for this position.
Thank you for considering my application :)

Jane Nikulina

Hello! My name is Jane. I have been a part of the Medtech society from the moment I joined the university. Now that I am set to intercalate in Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering next year, I would be honoured to join the committee on the mission of helping other students uncover their passion for the field.

I have been part of the RUMS Welfare subcommittee this year, and I have gained valuable experience in event organisation and promotion, as well as professional communication, workload distribution and time management.

I’d love to be your Marketing Officer to help bring our initiatives and opportunities to life, making sure they reach the right people in the right way.

With experience in designing social media content, writing copy for events, and managing promotional timelines, I want to build a strong and consistent brand for the MedTech Society. I aim to:

  • Develop engaging and informative content across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, newsletters)
  • Highlight student opportunities in MedTech (conferences, talks, workshops)
  • Collaborate closely with other committee members to promote events with a clear and unified message
  • Continue building the "professional" image of MedTech — let potential sponsors see why it is worth connecting with us
  • and, of course, keep growing our amazing community by attracting new members from different backgrounds

I'd be honoured to join the committee, and I am excited for the year ahead!
