Catharina Maschka

Hi, I’m Catharina, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student, and I’m excited to be your next Sponsorship Executive.

As the current First-Year Rep for the UCL Engineering Society, I’ve seen what it takes to secure high-level sponsorships from companies like Bloomberg, Shell, and Qualcomm. I understand that building meaningful partnerships requires strategic outreach, persistence, and dedicated effort, especially over the summer, when crucial groundwork is laid. I’m prepared and motivated to make that commitment to ensure MPBE receives the funding it deserves to thrive.

Working under an experienced Sponsorship Manager, I hope to support and scale current initiatives, from long-term deals like the one in progress with Panda Surgical and Medtronic, to increasing sponsor engagement through event collaborations in exciting areas like surgical robotics and AI. I’m eager to contribute to these ongoing conversations and strive to secure other large medtech companies through unwavering commitment over the summer to meet the diverse interests within the society.

I’m excited to go beyond membership and contribute to the long-term growth and success of the MPBE Society as a committee member.

Sam Bryant

I am standing for Sponsorship Executive for the Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics Society because I want to bridge the gap between our society’s goals and the resources needed to achieve them. Throughout my first year of study I have become more and more fascinated by how biomedical engineering blends science and innovation to solve real-world health problems, and being part of this society has shown me the power of collaboration. As Sponsorship Executive, I’d work hard to connect with companies and organisations that share our vision, securing funding and providing invaluable experiences. I’m organised, love talking to people, and have experience pitching ideas from group projects and internships. I believe I can build strong relationships with sponsors to help our society grow, whether it’s bringing in guest speakers or funding cutting-edge projects. This role excites me because it’s a chance to make a tangible impact, support my peers, and help our society thrive.
