Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering Society: Outreach Manager

Hi, I’m Catharina, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student! I’m applying for Outreach Manager because I want to help spotlight the incredible work happening across our department and industry, and bring our community closer to the real-world impact of biomedical engineering and medical physics.

As students, it’s easy to get caught up in deadlines, labs, and lectures. But we often forget why we chose this path: to improve lives through medical innovation. That’s why I want to launch a podcast series under MPBE featuring both UCL researchers and industry specialists, to make cutting-edge research and real-world medtech challenges accessible and inspiring.

This podcast would not only give our members a chance to hear directly from the people driving change but also allow us to collaborate with our sponsors, showcase their work, and create valuable relationships. I also see an exciting opportunity to collaborate with other societies, like UCL MedTech, which is planning to launch its own podcast, allowing us to amplify our reach. 

As Outreach Manager, I will dedicate myself to creating meaningful content and engagement opportunities that remind us all of the bigger picture. 

I’d love to help tell the stories that keep this vision alive.
