I'm running for Tech Officer because I want to contribute to the society in a hands-on, behind-the-scenes way that supports everything we do — from showcases to socials. K-pop Soc has been such a big part of my first year at uni, and I’d love the chance to give back by helping make our events run as smoothly and professionally as possible. I really respect the work this year’s Tech Officers have done — they’ve put in a lot behind the scenes to make events run smoothly, and it’s made me appreciate how important the role is. I’d be proud to carry that forward and contribute in the same way.
I’m confident using tech under pressure, I stay calm when things don’t go to plan, and I know how important communication is when you're part of a team running live events. I'm also quick to learn new tools and software, and I'm more than ready to support the society’s needs — whether that's managing equipment, troubleshooting on the day, or collaborating with other officers to pull everything together.
Being on the committee would mean being part of the engine that keeps things running, and I’m genuinely excited to bring both energy and reliability to that role.

As a film student, I believe that I can elevate K-Pop Society’s filming and lighting in all showcases, Blooms, and cover videos. Bringing dynamism and vibrancy to our content is crucial to show the public our commitment as a K-Pop society, and increase rewatch-ability to our YouTube videos. I have the equipment to film and edit professional-looking content, and will do my best to put it in good use.
I will do my best to make your faces POP (pop pop pop pop) on camera (you didn’t glam up for no reason) and your movements look CLEAR and CRISP (the blood sweat and tears put into practice were not for nothing).
I also have plans to make behind-the-scenes content for all events in our society.
To summarise, I have the both the abilities and the equipment to make everyone shine on-stage and on camera, as well as extra content ideas to bring our fun and LOVELY (el oh vee ee, el why la la la) personalities to light.
I look forward to working with everyone!
(We cannot be caught lacking, dear society members.)

Ever since joining the K-POP Society at the start of Term 2 and performing in two pieces for Blooms, I've become increasingly awestruck by the creativity and talent shown by all members of our society, and have met many incredible and inspiring people in the brief time I’ve spent in it. As such, I have decided to run for the position of Tech Officer, as I would love to contribute to the K-POP society’s creative direction and believe I possess the necessary experience and qualities to excel in this role.
For one, I am well-versed in multiple editing software, especially with Adobe After Effects, which I have been consistently using for over 3 years. With my previous experience serving on committees for other UCL societies within my first year, I would like to consider myself someone who is disciplined and able to manage my time effectively, meeting deadlines while working on multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality. Additionally, criticism isn’t something that fazes me, and I find it easy to recognise my faults. I am open to any and all advice on how I can improve myself, both in my work and beyond.
That being said, if elected as Tech Officer, I will ensure that I meet and uphold all the basic requirements of my job, as well as exceed what is expected of me. I look forward to exploring my creative vision and developing my skills, ensuring that everyone is filmed and presented in a way that complements them and showcases their unique qualities.

Hi, I'm Lyra - I'm a SHINee ult (but i also love skz and ateez !!) and I'm running for Tech Officer since I love K-Pop, this society, and also I love videography and editing! I think I'm well-suited for this position since I have prior experience with editing - audio, photo, and also video (e.g. Adobe Express for photo, CapCut for video) - and though I don't have any specific experience with filming, I think I'm a fast and adaptable learner, and aware of the requirements of this position which I believe I can manage well. I want to ensure that post-production runs as smoothly as pre-production and hope to have the opportunity to contribute to this, and help make the society's performances and classes be even better! Thank you for reading! :)

Hello I'm Noelle, a second year who joined the society this academic year! As an introvert I definitely had second thoughts joining society events and signing up to showcases but I am so thankful I committed to the society this year :) I have made amazing friendships and memories, with the winter showcase and IUKS being my two biggest highlights this year. Therefore, I would love to become a part of leading the society in my final year. During my time as a leader for IUKS I rediscovered my passion for video editing through making the VCR and projections, and I believe my creativity and digital art skills would be an asset to being tech officer, hence I am confident in maintaining the quality of the society's social media and video content. As committee I could also become a supporting figure to new non-fresher members and ensure they feel included and welcomed. I look forward to making more wonderful memories, and I would be more than grateful for the opportunity to serve the society next year.

I'm standing for tech because I've got tech experience... I'm an art student and do a lot of video work, so I'm well-versed in video and sound editing (see photo for amazing greenscreen editing skills......). I'm going into my final year, so trust that I'll be motivated to get things done quickly and efficiently.
I'm very used to storyboarding and scripting for video as well, so if anyone needs help with the more creative idea generation, I'd be so so happy to assist. I would be there to facilitate people's creative visions when it comes to both filming, editing and working with you to create something everyone can be proud to put out on the internet for the world to see 😀...
Outside of that, I've participated in or led a piece in nearly every aspect of performance the society offers... from vocal covers to bloom's pieces, so I know what is required from tech and what kind of assistance and support is most helpful to leaders as well as everyone else and believe I'm up to the task and can do my part to make it easier for all parties involved so we can all have fun with it (No stress 🌸).
Yeah, that's it... It would be super nice of u to vote for me... I'm very passionate about this society and genuinely believe I can contribute to its smooth running 👼, so if u want strong tech support, vote 4 meeeee <3

I am running for this position to make everyone who workes hard in the society to shine on camera, especially because digital footprint exists and I'm sure we all want our best possible versions to stay on the internet!
I have found possible improvements to the current way tech is run in the society. I am confident in my filming and editing, and am willing to prioritize society work as much as possible. I also think I am well-fit as I am very meticulous when it comes to doing things on time, which I know our society can sometimes need. I want to work to make the content uploaded on social media much more crisp and professional while also including a friendly, welcoming touch :)
I have experience in filming and editing both from high school and my course, and I am very interested in capturing our society where I found so much fun and joy, in a great light. I have access to professional to semi-professional equipment which I am more than happy to put into use.
Overall, my main aim is to bring more attention to our society, showcase our best works and hopefully make people want to come back for more (yes that was a reference).
Looking forward to contributing to our society!!
