Hey everyone!
I'm Ayaan, and I'm really excited to put myself forward for the role of Sanskaar Officer for Hindu Society. Over the past year, I’ve absolutely loved being part of this awesome community — from taking part in weekly Seva to attending many of the weekly sessions, and taking part in Bhajans Night.
For me, Sanskaar is about living our values — compassion, service, and unity — and I’d be honoured to help the society as we continue to grow spiritually and support those around us. If elected, I plan to work closely with my fellow Sanskaar Officer to keep our weekly sessions going strong, and to bring Sanskaar into action with new events like:
- Food bank drives and meal distributions for those in need
- Charity walks/runs to raise money for important causes
- Mindfulness and yoga sessions rooted in Hindu philosophy
- Fundraisers to support the homeless and vulnerable communities
- Sewa Days where we give back — whether that’s park cleanups or volunteering for local service
This society has already given me so much — a home away from home, lifelong friends, and a space to reconnect with my roots — and I’d love the chance to give back in any way possible.
Thank you for considering me!

I’m standing for Sanskar Officer because I care deeply about preserving and celebrating our values, culture, and spiritual roots in a way that’s accessible and meaningful to students. HinduSoc is more than just events—it’s about shared identity, and I’d love to support that by helping organise a range of activities like aartis, discussion sessions, and festival celebrations. Having led structured group activities through five years as a cadet in the RAF, I’m confident in planning and delivering sessions that encourage both learning and reflection. I hope to help members feel connected to their heritage, whether they’re deeply religious or simply curious to explore more.

Hi everyone! I'm Arya, and I would love to be your Sanskaar officer next year.
As a practising Hindu who grew up Cornwall, it is safe to say I have struggled with feeling disconnected from my faith due to a lack of community, which is one of the parts of Hinduism I appreciate the most. I have been blessed to find this through UCL Hindu Society and its profound way of conveying Hindu values and teachings. Through continuation of the weekly Sanskaar sessions, I hope to reach a wider audience no matter what background. Having established and run a medic society at school, I have acquired organisational and time management skills which will be important in planning and delivering these sessions. My training in Bharatanatyam has equipped me with knowledge of Hindu mythology which I can also integrate in sessions, especially in creative ways such as collaborations with UCL Indian Dance Society for which I am on committee next year. Additionally, within the role of Sanskaar officer, I would love to bring new ideas. I find the focus on meditation within Hinduism to be particularly inspiring and hope to introduce this through regular sessions, yoga and temple visits. Events such as teaching days and retreats could be organised in partnership with other societies and universities, to expand our community even more.
Overall, Hindu society has been an integral part of my first year and I would be so grateful for the chance to give back and continue its wonderful legacy.

Our culture, traditions, and values are what make Hindusoc so special. Being the sanskaar officer is a role that provides a lot of creative levy to be able to introduce elements of our culture to the people. I do believe that I can contribute to this role by using this freedom to explore and celebrate what Hinduism really means, together, be it through events/weekly meetups/socials or aartis. I’m passionate about making our faith relevant to student life, and I hope to bring both dedication and creativity to every event.
