Hi, I’m Aarohi! I was on the GenFem committee last year, and this year on my year abroad, I’ve missed the society so much! I’ve mostly been staying up to date with it through relentlessly stalking social media - I’m probably currently @genfemucl on instagram’s number one fan. Because of this, I’d really love to be social media manager next year! I’ve had a bit of experience running instagram pages before, as I was initially in charge of the GendFilm instagram for FilmSoc last year, as well as a brief stint managing the UCL Film Productions instagram when I was directing. I worked with Robyn (fabulous current social media manager) to curate the GendFilm instagram account last year and I’d like to think some of her tips and tricks have rubbed off on me, so I would be a good choice to carry on her legacy at GenFem. As a film student, I’m interested in media and marketing, so this role really appeals to me as a way to put to practical use my knowledge about creating exciting and engaging visual media to promote our society. On committee in 2nd year, I managed to organise collabs with other societies and speakers, so I’m confident using social media to reach out to people and create opportunities. I’m excited to create aesthetically appealing posts (and willing to buy canva premium!!) to create an amazing brand for our society in order to reach out to new members and other societies, as well as keep all our lovely current members up to date with all our events.

I've been a member of GenFem since I started at UCL last September, and it's been such a welcoming community for me since I arrived!
I first heard of the society through the social media page on instagram, so it would be so much fun to be able to promote GenFem to a whole new cohort of members, and help organise more great events. I’d love to be able to use the socials to broaden and expand the GenFem community next year.

Hi everyone! I’m Alexandra, a first-year Law student, and I’m excited to nominate myself for GenFem Social Media Secretary.
I’m passionate about using social media to share information, spark meaningful conversations and build our community. I’d love to continue the amazing work already done by Robyn while introducing fresh, interactive ideas.
A little about me: I create content for UK Legal Pulse, a social media platform with over 4,600 followers, where I use Canva to write and design weekly posts on competition law. I also have experience with Adobe After Effects, creating dynamic visual content, and have designed posters and presentations for various academic and extracurricular projects. Beyond my digital skills, I’ve always been drawn to making things. Recently, I’ve been attending Arts Lates at ArtsUCL, which has encouraged me to explore that creative side even more – something I’d love to bring to GenFem’s socials.
If elected, here are a few ideas I’d look to introduce:
- Polls & Conversations on IG stories – to spark discussion and hear from more voices in our community
- Campaign Spotlights – showcasing inspiring feminist initiatives at UCL and beyond
- Support Resources – ensuring wellbeing info and helpful links are accessible
- Blog & Newsletter Highlights – turning posts into visual mini-features to help amplify writers’ voices
All while keeping the feed up-to-date, cohesive, and welcoming!
Thank you for reading, and I’d be incredibly grateful for your support!
