Football Club (Women's): Vice-President

Hey UCLWFC! My name is Naisha Govindan and I'm running for Vice President of UCLWFC this year! Some of you may also recognise me as last year's Treasurer for this club. I am a 2nd-year student studying Cell and Developmental biology, and I've been at UCLWFC for two years.

When I first started playing football in India, at 12 years old, my school didn't have a team for its women. From starting my middle school team to representing UCL today has been one of the best journeys of my life. Being part of this club has made me feel more connected to the UCL community, and I have had some incredible experiences along the way. I would like to give back to the club in some way.

Having been part of the committee last year, I already have crucial experience working with the Student Union as well as other members of the committee. I also hope that the fact that the club has not gone bankrupt with me at the helm will give you some confidence in my ability! As vice president, I will work closely with the President and Treasurer to support them. I will also work hard to ensure that events are planned smoothly, members feel welcomed, and that I am available and approachable at the 4 total socials I will probably attend all year (sorry Lilia). I may not be the most outspoken or well-known, but I am reliable and a hard worker. I believe that my experience as treasurer has given me valuable experience in how to best support the club.
