Hi, I’m Yvette Cheng, a second-year Civil Engineering student passionate about humanitarian causes, women in STEM, and people-centred engineering. I’m running for Treasurer because I love the logistics, organisation, and financial management that keep meaningful projects running smoothly.
With experience as a private chef and food business owner, I’ve developed real-world budgeting, planning, and problem-solving skills. I’ve also worked as a maths and physics tutor for 3 years, fluent in Mandarin and English, and love breaking down complex ideas—something I aim to bring to EWB’s financial processes too.
I was a member of EWB last year and was truly inspired. Now, I want to give back by creating financial systems that outlast me. My vision is to build clear, centralised budgeting and tracking tools so future Treasurers and project leads have everything they need at their fingertips.
I’ll also focus on fun, effective fundraising and partnerships—with the SU and other societies—to grow our impact and visibility. I want to make EWB’s finances empowering, transparent, and aligned with our mission to create ethical, sustainable change.
I hope to support every project with clarity, consistency, and care—so that great ideas never get held back by logistics. Let’s build something lasting together! I’d be honoured to bring energy, creativity, and dedication to the team.
