Matthew Mok

Hello everyone,

I’m Matthew, and I’m excited to stand for the position of Head of Marketing. I believe this role is a great fit for my skills and the value I can bring to our team.

I’ve worked on a range of events and campaigns — from coordinating a tech and startup panel and helping run a 100+ participant fundraiser at UCL as a subcommittee member, to organising environmental initiatives such as school-wide recycling drives and beach cleanups during high school as a society manager. I focused on clear messaging and outreach, which helped drive strong turnout and positive feedback. These experiences have taught me how to promote events effectively by creating clear and engaging messages for events and campaigns, and how to be a collaborative team member.

Now, I want to apply those skills in a way that supports both our events and the growth of the society.

If elected, here’s what I plan to do:

  • Create a consistent, term-based marketing calendar so events are promoted early and effectively
  • Write clean, on-brand promotional text for events and campaigns tailored to our audience
  • Coordinate with the Head of Media to keep our posts clear, consistent, and high quality across platforms
  • Promote not just events, but also collaborations and student achievements to keep the society dynamic and visible
  • Work behind the scenes to collaborate with other committee members, helping them stay aligned on what’s being promoted and when

Thanks so much for your time — I hope to have your support!

Bobby Ta

OK, OK, I'm campaigning for president too. But who said there isn't a skill overlap?

'What makes YOU suitable for Head of Marketing, you versatile king?' - I hear you ask. You see my friend, there are 2 types of people in this world: those who turn up to every lecture in a neatly ironed button-up like an a̶b̶s̶o̶l̶u̶t̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶f̶f̶ respectable young (wo)man, and those who don't. I am firmly in the former camp, which makes me legit. Obviously. You wouldn't want the ambassador of our society to be all sloppily dressed, would you?

jk (sorta). Now that I've earned your undivided attention, here's what I have to offer aside from my midlife crisis wardrobe:

  • Leadership experience
    • I was in the SPC this year and have a proven track record working with our lovely VP Rhin (who would make quite an excellent little u̶n̶d̶e̶r̶ overling if I may say so myself 😊)
  • I am:
    • Dependable and resolute - I never shy away from tough decisions.
    • Dedicated to the ends of the Earth - just ask my 10y/o fish
    • Lowkey insta-famous on my fish account - I know how to build a brand
    • Well-spoken, communicative, and self-assured - case in point, this manifesto :)
  • Vision

    • I'm committed to building on CSS' existing reputation and improving the marketability of our wonderful events through:
      • Funky, appealing materials
      • A stronger social media presence
      • Consistent emails about events

A vote for me is a vote for greater reach than ever before. Vote for Mr Shirt Guy and you won't regret it :)

Parn Limwattananon

Hi!!

I’m Parn, a first-year BSc Computer Science student, and I’m excited to be running for Head of Marketing for CSS!

Over the past year, I’ve loved diving into our department’s events, meeting inspiring peers, and seeing how a strong society can turn ideas into impact. Thus, I’d love to help grow that energy by making our society’s voice louder, more creative, and more connected.

I believe great marketing is more than just sharing information—it’s about sparking interest and building a sense of belonging. From designing engaging content to crafting outreach strategies, I want to make sure our events and opportunities are not only seen, but genuinely exciting. Alongside my studies, I’ve been exploring this even further by working on partnerships and marketing strategy during an internship with Study Mind—an experience that’s given me insight into what it takes to connect with diverse audiences in meaningful ways.

These experiences have given me a strong foundation, and I’m excited to apply them to help grow the CS Society’s reach in fresh and effective ways. After all, if marketing were a function, I’d return efficient results.

Thanks for reading, and I’d love your support!
